Lt Gen P R Shankar is a retired Director General of Artillery. He is an alumnus of National Defence Academy Khadakvasala, Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Army War College, Mhow, Naval Post Graduate School, Monterrey and National Defence College, New Delhi. He has held many important command, staff and instructional appointments in the Army. He has vast operational experience having served in all kinds of terrain and operational situations which has confronted the Indian Army in the past four decades.

    Very timely article to dowse the dragon’s fire and show them the mirror.

    A conflict is first won in the mind. Gen Shankar, one of the brightest brains has very succinctly analysed and exposed China’s vulnerability and how we could exploit it to our advantage.

    An unrestricted creation of imbalance both socially and economically is indeed the method that will work in the long run. In fact if anyone can needle its sensitiveness in Tibet and xingiang itself is enough. Are we ready for such a view? Worth a consideration.
