For the first time, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will unveil a life-sized 1:1 model of the fifth-generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) at Aero India 2025. This highly anticipated exhibit will be featured at HAL’s pavilion in Hall-E at the Air Force Station Yelahanka, Bengaluru, starting on February 10.
In addition to the AMCA model, HAL’s indoor pavilion will spotlight its indigenously designed and developed platforms, including the Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), Hindustan Turbo Trainer (HTT)-40 Simulator, and scaled models of aircraft such as the LCA Tejas Mk1A, LCA Mk1 Trainer, Hindustan Jet Trainer (HJT)-36, HTT-40, Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), and Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Mk IV. Scaled models of the Hindustan 228 and its amphibian variant will also be part of the display.
According to HAL CMD D.K. Sunil, “The indigenously designed and developed Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) will be the centrepiece of our exhibit. HAL’s R&D Divisions will also showcase various innovative products in avionics, mechanical systems, engines, and aerospace technologies for both manned and unmanned aircraft.”
The central theme of Aero India 2025 is self-reliance, aligning with India’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” vision.
The indoor exhibit will highlight advanced systems and technology, showcasing cutting-edge avionics systems such as a Mission Management System, a Digital Map Generator, and a Data Lite-Communication System. Additionally, it will feature IFF and CIT capabilities, an Indigenous Communication Complex complete with an Audio Management System, an Audio Warning System, and Radio Control Panels, all designed to demonstrate the future of aerospace technology.
Outdoor and Flying Displays
The outdoor displays will include full-scale models of the LCA Mk1A, HJT-36, HTT-40, LCA Mk1 Trainer, Hindustan 228, Do-228, and LUH. Visitors can also witness an impressive flying display featuring a unique LCA Mk1A formation alongside the HJT-36, HTT-40, and LUH.
A major highlight of the exhibition will be a functional full-scale engineering demonstrator of the Combat Air Teaming System (CATS) Warrior, which showcases India’s advancements in autonomous air combat technologies. The Advanced Light Helicopter Next Generation (ALH NG) and Rotary Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (RUAV) will also be featured.
Collaboration and Business Initiatives
HAL will use Aero India 2025 as a platform to promote its indigenously built aircraft and technologies to visiting defence delegations. The company plans to hold business meetings with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and customers and finalize agreements and contracts with business partners for ongoing and future projects.
Aero India 2025 promises to showcase India’s growing capabilities in aerospace and defence innovation, further cementing its position as a global player in the sector.
