Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi visited forward areas along the western border on Saturday to review the operational preparedness of frontline troops deployed along the Pakistan frontier.
As part of his ongoing visit to the Western Command, General Dwivedi arrived at the Vajra Corps headquarters in Jalandhar, where he was briefed by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) on the current security situation and operational posture along the Western Front.
The Army Chief then proceeded to Headquarters Panther Division in Amritsar, where senior officers apprised him of the prevailing security dynamics and operational readiness in the region. Earlier this week, General Dwivedi had also visited Headquarters Western Command in Chandimandir, underscoring the Army’s emphasis on comprehensive assessments across key formations.
This tour of the Western Sector follows his recent visit to operational areas in the Northern Sector. It also comes amid reports of renewed infiltration attempts and ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control, resulting in casualties.
General Dwivedi commended the troops for their unwavering commitment, professionalism, and high state of readiness and emphasized the need to continuously adapt to the evolving security landscape along the western borders.
