EDITORIAL FOREWORD
The document provides a comprehensive listing of defence items that require an industrial licence. Defence items require compulsory licensing under the IDR Act 1951. On opening of the defence sector to private industry necessary amendment containing list of compulsory licensing items was undertaken.
The document lists out defence items as finalised by the Department of Defence Production, in detail. The items not included in the list do not require industrial licence for defence purposes. Similarly, dual use items having both military and civilian application, not in the list, do not require Industrial License from defence angle.
