The United States on Tuesday imposed sanctions on six entities and two individuals based in Iran, the UAE, and China for procuring key components for Iran’s UAV and ballistic missile programs.

In a statement, the US State Department said the move is part of Washington’s efforts to disrupt Iran’s military-industrial network, specifically targeting Qods Aviation Industries, a US-sanctioned Iranian entity involved in UAV production.

“The United States will use all available means to expose and disrupt Iran’s growing UAV and missile development programs, which destabilize the Middle East and beyond,” the statement added.

The US State Department also warned Iran uses complex networks in third countries to conceal its sensitive technology procurement and transfer. It further stated that Tehran leverages this technology and arms sales revenue to strengthen its military-industrial base, supplying missiles and UAVs to Russia, regional proxy groups, and other actors of concern.

The US Treasury Department carried out the sanctions under Executive Order 13382, which targets individuals and entities involved in the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their supporters.
