Zen Technologies, a leading provider of defence training and anti-drone solutions, has been granted its third patent for the T-90 Tank Simulator—the Containerized Driving Simulator System (T-90 DS). This milestone further cements the company’s leadership in military training simulation by offering advanced solutions to enhance combat vehicle operator training.

According to a statement released on Monday, the patent, filed on March 24, 2022, and valid until March 24, 2042, adds to Zen Technologies’ growing portfolio, which now includes four patents in 2025 and a total of 14 patents in the fiscal year 2024-25. This latest achievement follows previous patents for the Basic Gunnery Simulator (BGS) and Crew Gunnery Simulator (CGS) for the T-90 tank. Additionally, the company holds three patents for T-72 and BMP-II tank simulator variants, reinforcing its commitment to advancing armoured vehicle training.

AI-powered Simulation for Enhanced Training

The T-90 DS Simulator is a high-fidelity, portable training system designed to provide military personnel with an immersive and realistic training experience. The simulator replicates the tank driver’s station with full controls and a six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) motion platform, accurately simulating the movement of a T-90 tank across diverse terrains. It integrates artificial intelligence-driven, scenario-based training modules, enabling personnel to prepare for combat environments such as urban warfare, desert operations, and night manoeuvres.

Incorporating virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies, the system enhances situational awareness by offering real-time battlefield scenarios. It also supports multi-unit training, allowing multiple tank crew members to train simultaneously for improved coordination and operational efficiency.

Rapid Deployment and Cost-Effective Training

Designed as a containerized and rapidly deployable system, the T-90 DS Simulator functions as a plug-and-play mobile training facility. It enables armed forces to conduct high-quality training at various locations without the logistical challenges of transporting heavy military vehicles. It aligns with the Indian Army’s objective of cost-effective, high-impact training while minimizing live tank usage, the company claimed.

With six patents covering T-90, T-72, and BMP-II tank simulators, Zen Technologies continues to drive innovation in military training solutions. The company aims to enhance combat readiness, tactical preparedness, and mission effectiveness through cutting-edge simulation technologies.
