Adani Group, a leading Indian conglomerate with diverse business interests, including defence, has signed an agreement with Thales Group, a global leader in aerospace, defence, and security, to manufacture rockets in India through its arm, Adani Defence & Aerospace. This is a major push for the government’s flagship “Make in India” programme. Thales said the company looks forward to collaborating to manufacture Thales’ 70mm rockets in India and added this partnership is a key milestone in our continued support of ‘Make in India’ and “Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-reliant India) vision for India’s growing defence industry.
“This partnership not only underscores our commitment to India but also enhances our global partner network,” the Thales Group stated in a post on Twitter. “We congratulate the Adani Group on this collaboration. Together, we aim to contribute to the growth and success of India’s defence sector,” the Thales Group added.

Earlier this month, Adani Defence and Aerospace forged a groundbreaking partnership with the EDGE Group, a top-tier advanced technology and defence organisation based in the UAE. This strategic agreement aims to establish a global powerhouse that harnesses the combined defence and aerospace expertise of both companies, unifying their product portfolios to fulfil the requirements of the international and domestic clientele.
The agreement will explore establishing R&D facilities in India and the UAE and setting up development, production, and maintenance facilities for defence and aerospace solutions to serve not just the two captive markets but also Southeast Asian and wider global markets. Adani Defence & Aerospace, part of the Adani Group, is a pioneer in designing, developing, and manufacturing state-of-the-art defence products.
