Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, the Chief of Air Staff, recently emphasized the importance of increased collaboration between the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) and the Indian Air Force to develop innovative and state-of-the-art secure telecommunication solutions for critical infrastructures. The Chief interacted with senior officials of C-DOT and stressed on the need for better synergy between C-DOT and the Air Force for integration of futuristic and advanced secured communication solutions in the wake of changing landscape from network centric to data centric in modern warfare. During his visit to C-DOT in Delhi on March 26, Chaudhari was given a comprehensive overview of the organization’s diverse telecom product portfolio and key telecom security solutions.
C-DOT, under the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, is India’s premier telecom research and development centre. It focuses on indigenous, secured telecom solutions for critical infrastructure, including defence communications and cybersecurity. The Air Chief Marshal’s visit aimed to explore potential synergies between the two organizations to address the evolving landscape of modern warfare, which is shifting from network-centric to data-centric.
Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO of C-DOT, presented a wide range of cutting-edge solutions to Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari. These solutions include real-time malware detection in a network, enterprise-level security solutions, quantum key distribution, post-quantum cryptography, 4G and 5G core and radio access network (RAN), disaster management solutions using the Common Alert Protocol (CAP), optical transport and access solutions, and switching and routing solutions. The Air Chief participated in a live demonstration of these solutions, highlighting their functional aspects and potential applications in the Indian Air Force.
In his interaction with senior C-DOT officials, Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari emphasized the need for better collaboration between C-DOT and the Air Force to integrate futuristic and advanced secured communication solutions. This collaboration is crucial for addressing the growing complexity of modern warfare and ensuring the security of critical infrastructure.
Dr. Upadhyay assured the Air Chief that C-DOT is fully committed to developing state-of-the-art security solutions tailored to the specific needs and requirements of the Indian Air Force. By fostering this collaboration, both organizations can contribute to enhancing the nation’s defence capabilities and ensuring the security of critical infrastructure.
The visit by Air Chief Marshal V. R. Chaudhari has highlighted the importance of strengthening the partnership between C-DOT and the Indian Air Force to develop cutting-edge telecommunication solutions. This collaboration will not only benefit the Indian Air Force but also contribute to the overall growth and security of the nation’s critical infrastructure.
