Lt Cdr L Shivaram (Retd)

Lt Cdr (Retd) L.Shivaram is an alumnus of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, where he graduated in Instrumentation. He joined the Indian Navy in 1984 as a commissioned officer in the Engineering Branch. In the Navy he underwent specialization courses in Marine engineering and also the Air Engineering specialization course at Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology.
He obtained his engine room watch keeping certificate on INS Godavari and has also done tenures at sea as Engineering Officer of INSDB T-53 and INS Sarayu. After joining the Aviation Arm of the Navy, he has served in frontline anti-submarine aircraft squadrons twice and at deeper level maintenance facilities of aircraft for almost a decade. Post retirement from the Navy in 1998 he has worked for over 18 years in several Indian and multinational companies in defence aviation projects including indigenous air borne avionics development and vibration monitoring and control on helicopters.
