The Ministry of Defence has abolished 9304 posts out of the current 13,000 vacancies in the Military Engineering Services.
As per a statement by the ministry, the decision taken is in line with recommendations of the Committee of Experts, which had recommended measures to enhance combat capability and rebalance defence expenditure of the Armed Forces.
The decision is aimed at making MES an effective organisation with a leaner workforce, well equipped to handle complex issues in the emerging scenario in an efficient and cost-effective manner, the statement said. Read More…
