Noida-based drone maker, IG Defence, has secured orders from the Indian Army and the Indian Navy for its handheld counter-drone system, the IG T-Shul Pulse Anti-Drone Gun, the company said on Wednesday.

The electronic-warfare-based system is designed to jam and neutralise hostile drones. It is intended for use by frontline troops, base security units, and forces tasked with protecting critical installations. The company said the system has an effective jamming range of up to two kilometres under line-of-sight conditions.

IG Defence described the T-Shul Pulse as a multi-band, directional jammer capable of disrupting multiple drone communication and navigation frequencies simultaneously, a capability designed to counter increasingly adaptive, frequency-agile unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The directional architecture, the company added, is intended to limit interference with friendly communications and onboard naval systems.

The system is designed to operate as a standalone, network-independent platform with built-in safety mechanisms, allowing deployment in contested electromagnetic environments on land and at sea. IG Defence said the platform represents a shift from single-band legacy jammers to a more flexible, multi-band electronic denial system for military use.

The company said deliveries are expected to begin within a month of the orders. The T-Shul Pulse is fully designed, developed, and manufactured in India, with current production capacity in the hundreds and scalability to meet larger operational requirements.

IG Defence has previously supplied its IG FPV Striker system, which was deployed during Operation Sindoor along the Line of Control.

Commenting on the orders, Maj Gen (Retd) R C Padhi, Senior Vice President, IG Defence, said: “The induction of indigenous counter-drone systems such as the IG T-Shul Pulse reflects the Indian Armed Forces’ increasing focus on preparedness against emerging aerial threats. Handheld, electronic-warfare-based solutions provide frontline units with the ability to respond swiftly and independently to low-cost, asymmetric drone threats that are becoming more prevalent in modern conflict environments. Systems designed and manufactured in India, aligned with operational requirements, strengthen both responsiveness and long-term self-reliance in defence capabilities.”

IG Defence said it continues to invest in in-house R&D and manufacturing as part of India’s push for greater defence self-reliance under the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
