JCBL Group announced on Tuesday that its defence subsidiary, Airbornics Defence & Space Pvt Ltd (ADSL), has entered into a strategic partnership with Slovakian counterparts to co-develop and manufacture next-generation technologies for light tanks and other combat vehicles.
The agreement was formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed during President Droupadi Murmu’s recent state visit to Slovakia, marking a significant milestone in India-Slovakia defence cooperation.
Under this partnership, ADSL will lead the indigenous development and production of critical subsystems for light armoured platforms. These include advanced turret systems, active protection systems (APS), remote-controlled weapon stations (RCWS), and human-machine interface (HMI) modules.
All manufacturing will be carried out in India, in alignment with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) initiative.
“This partnership signifies more than just a business agreement—it reflects a convergence of trust, technology, and transformation. It aligns with our belief in the Make in India vision and reinforces India’s emergence as a global hub for defence innovation,” said Rishi Aggarwal, Managing Director, JCBL Group.
The collaboration aims to foster technology transfer, joint development, and operational excellence in next-generation combat platforms, particularly those tailored for high-altitude and complex terrain operations.
JCBL added that the partnership also paves the way for future defence exports, leveraging Slovakia’s technological capabilities and India’s strong industrial base.
President Murmu’s delegation to Slovakia included senior officials and a high-level business contingent, underlining the growing strategic and economic engagement between the two nations.
