The fourth edition of Exercise Tiger Triumph, the bilateral tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise between India and the United States is set to take place along the Eastern Seaboard from April 1 to April 13. The exercise aims to enhance interoperability between the two nations in conducting HADR operations and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the establishment of a Combined Coordination Centre (CCC), ensuring seamless coordination between Indian and US Joint Task Forces (JTF) during crises.
India will be represented by Indian Naval Ships (INS) Jalashwa, Gharial, Mumbai, and Shakti, along with their integral helicopters and landing crafts. The Indian Air Force (IAF) will deploy its C-130 transport aircraft and Mi-17 helicopters, while the Indian Army will contribute troops from the 91 Infantry Brigade and 12 Mechanized Infantry Battalion. The Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT) will also be part of the Indian contingent.
On the US side, the exercise will see the participation of US Navy Ships Comstock and Ralph Johnson, with troops from the US Marine Division embarked.
The exercise will commence with a Harbour Phase at Visakhapatnam from April 1 to April 7. This phase will include a grand Opening Ceremony featuring a joint Flag Parade and media interaction aboard INS Jalashwa on April 1. Participants from both nations will engage in training visits, subject matter expert exchanges, sports events, and social interactions to foster camaraderie and cooperation.
Following the Harbour Phase, the participating ships and embarked troops will sail to Kakinada for the Sea Phase. This segment will involve maritime, amphibious, and HADR operations designed to test joint response capabilities in realistic crisis scenarios.
