MHA Gets Rs 1.05 Lakh Crore; Emphasis on Police, ensus

The Union home ministry’s allocation increased to Rs 1,67,250 crore in the budget from Rs 1,19,025 crore in the current financial year, according to an official statement.

Officials said the increase was on account of the allocations for the new Union Territories (UTs) of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. While Rs 30,757 crore was sanctioned for J&K, Rs 5,958 crore was allocated to Ladakh. Earlier, the state of J&K received similar allocation from the Centre and was entitled to devolution in the form of grants and share in central taxes.Read More…
