The Indian Navy is set to showcase its formidable maritime capabilities and operational prowess at the upcoming ‘Operational Demonstration’ (Op Demo), scheduled to take place on Navy Day, December 4, at the scenic Blue Flag Beach in Puri, Odisha. President Droupadi Murmu will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest, the Indian Navy announced on Saturday.

This annual event serves as a grand display of the Navy‘s multifaceted capabilities, aiming to boost maritime awareness among citizens while celebrating India’s rich seafaring heritage. The 2024 Op Demo, set against the pristine backdrop of Blue Flag Beach, highlights Odisha’s unique maritime heritage and underscores the state’s long-standing connection with the sea.

The Indian Navy is coordinating closely with the Odisha state government and local authorities to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. Seating arrangements are planned to accommodate local spectators and tourists, providing an opportunity for all to experience the live demonstration up close. The event will also be broadcast live on national television and streamed on the Indian Navy’s YouTube channel, reaching a wider audience across the country.
