Top commander of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Hafiz Abdul Rauf, admitted that India’s Operation Sindoor razed the group’s terror nerve centre in Muridke, its headquarters at Markaz-e-Taiba on the night of May 6-7, 2025.

Addressing a gathering, Rauf, a US-designated global terrorist, described the strike as “a very big attack” and conceded that the complex had been reduced to rubble.

“What happened on May 6-7, that place is no longer a mosque. Today, we cannot even sit there. It is finished; it has collapsed. It was a very big attack. Allah protected us and saved us,” he said. His statement amounted to confirmation of what the Indian military has been claiming: that it has struck its intended target.

Rauf is the operational commander for LeT, responsible in training terrorists and deploying them from launchpads in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), backed by the Pakistan Army.

Rauf’s admission punctures LeT’s propaganda, which claimed that Muridke is safe. Rauf’ss statements now cast doubt on those claims and underline the scale of the blow delivered by Operation Sindoor.

Operation Sindoor was initiated after the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir in April 2025, killing 26 civilian tourists linked to LeT, working under the name of The Resistance Front (TRF).

Indian officials also reported that the terrorists used Chinese-made weapons and equipment, indicating an expanded supply chain for Pakistan-based militant groups. Rauf has now acknowledged that such equipment was used during the confrontation that followed the Pahalgam attack.

In his speech, Rauf went further, claiming that Pakistan has given “open freedom for jihad,” making recruitment and training easier than anywhere else.

“The state has decided, that’s why we are able to do this,” he said, a statement that aligns with New Delhi’s assertions that terror outfits in Pakistan operate with institutional backing.
