Russia announced on Monday that its forces had gained control of another settlement in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine over the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, Ukraine reported 164 clashes along the frontlines on the same day. According to a briefing by the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian troops had captured the village of Storozheve as part of their strategy to encircle the nearby town of Velyka Novosilka.
The Russian forces also repelled the Ukrainian offensive in the directions of Kharkiv, Avdiivka, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, launched attacks that destroyed Ukrainian military equipment like tanks and artillery, and shot down 14 enemy drones, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that, as of Monday afternoon, Ukrainian troops had engaged in 164 clashes with Russian forces along the frontlines. The Ukrainian military took measures to hold its positions and prevent Russian advances from the east and south. Additionally, Ukrainian forces continued military operations in Russia’s Kursk region, according to Ukrainian sources.
