Hyderabad-based defence technology firm Zen Technologies has secured a patent for its cutting-edge Automated Hard Kill Firearm Mounting System, a breakthrough in autonomous target detection and engagement. The patent, granted under the Indian Patents Act, will remain in effect until October 15, 2042.
The Hard Kill Firearm Mounting System, originally filed on October 15, 2022, is designed to significantly enhance defence capabilities by reducing response times and improving operational efficiency in combat scenarios. This latest achievement marks Zen Technologies’ third patent in 2025 and 13th in the financial year 2024-25, further solidifying its leadership in indigenous defence innovation, the company said.
According to the statement, the patented system is a state-of-the-art mechatronics-based defence platform incorporating AI-powered target acquisition, automated firing, and real-time threat response capabilities. It seamlessly integrates with existing Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems, including anti-drone solutions and Battlefield Surveillance Radars (BFSRs). This advanced automation ensures swift and precise target acquisition through electronic means, making it an ideal solution for border security, counter-drone operations, and automated perimeter defence.
