Captain DK Sharma VSM (Retd.)
A hard core Executive Officer, he specialised in Navigation & Direction (ND) during his formative years. Was entrusted with navigating two frontline Kashin class Guided Missile Destroyers, incl one during Kargil conflict {Op Vijay}. Fortunate enough to have commanded a Mine Counter Measure Vessel (MCMV) and Pilotless Target Aircraft Squadron and was instrumental in clearance of the prestigious upgrade trials of Sea Harriers (LUSH). An alumnus of DSSC Wellington, he found his calling as the *Spokesperson of Indian Navy*.
In chair for almost a decade, the officer handled matters of the media, image building and kept the countrymen abreast with the events happening in Indian Navy. Awarded Visisth Seva Medal (VSM) by the President of India in 2016 for meritorious service, he retired in Aug 2019 after a glorious innings spanning 32years. Presently, he is associated with @Bharatshakti.in, a web portal dealing in Defence and Strategic Affairs.
