Godrej Aerospace to manufacture engine components

Godrej Aerospace, a division of the Godrej Enterprises Group, has signed a significant manufacturing agreement with aerospace giant Pratt & Whitney, part of the RTX group. Under the contract, Godrej will produce sophisticated components for aircraft engines, marking a major step forward in India’s aerospace manufacturing journey.

This development reflects Godrej’s growing stature in the global aerospace supply chain and reinforces its strategy to become a key player among original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the aviation sector. The agreement is expected to enhance the company’s technological capabilities and increase production of high-precision aerospace parts.

Speaking on the development, Maneck Behramkamdin, Business Head of Godrej Aerospace, commented, “Our partnership with Pratt & Whitney is a milestone not just for Godrej, but for India’s aerospace sector as a whole. It highlights our proven ability to deliver complex, high-quality components while supporting the country’s vision for self-reliance in advanced manufacturing.”

Behramkamdin further noted that Godrej’s robust infrastructure and focus on excellence position it to make meaningful contributions to the global aviation industry.

“This collaboration will help us further integrate into international aerospace ecosystems and enhance India’s footprint in the high-value manufacturing domain,” he added.

With approximately 35,000 square meters of dedicated aerospace manufacturing facilities and an additional 48,500 square meters in development, Godrej Aerospace is significantly expanding its industrial base. The company has long been involved in supporting India’s defence and space missions and now aims to deepen its role in global commercial and military aviation programs.

Pratt & Whitney, renowned for nearly a century of engineering innovation, has maintained a longstanding relationship with India, having powered critical Indian Air Force platforms for close to seven decades. This new partnership is expected to cement ties between the two companies further while advancing India’s aerospace capabilities.
