The curfew imposed in Colombo and its suburbs to contain the protests against Sri Lankan President, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, demanding his resignation, was lifted on Friday. The President’s office has blamed “organised extremists” for the violence on Thursday, following which 54 arrests have been made.
