Army Chief Gen Dhiraj Seth assesses operational preparedness, modernisation and infrastructure during two-day visit to Central Command

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth on Wednesday reviewed the operational preparedness of the Indian Army’s Central Command amid evolving regional security challenges and ongoing efforts to strengthen military capabilities.

During his two-day visit on August 4-5, the Army Chief assessed the prevailing security situation, combat readiness and capability enhancement initiatives across formations under the Lucknow-based Central Command.

At the Central Command headquarters, senior officers briefed the COAS on the operational posture, infrastructure development, force modernisation and measures being implemented to enhance combat effectiveness. He also visited the Headquarters Uttar Bharat Area, where he interacted with commanders and troops.

Addressing soldiers, General Seth stressed that operational preparedness, adaptability and self-reliance remain critical to maintaining military effectiveness. He called upon troops to remain vigilant, operationally agile and prepared to respond to emerging security challenges.

The visit comes as the Indian Army continues to push capability enhancement, indigenous technologies and force modernisation while maintaining a high level of operational readiness across its commands.
