Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth visited Mana and Joshimath in Uttarakhand’s Garhwal sector to review operational preparedness, combat readiness and infrastructure development along the border.

During the visit, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) was briefed on the operational readiness of formations deployed in the sector and ongoing infrastructure projects. After interacting with troops, he commended their professionalism, dedication, and resilience in securing the country’s frontiers.

Gen Seth stressed the need for greater technology integration, continuous capability enhancement and sustained operational vigilance to meet evolving security challenges.

The Army Chief also visited Mana, recognised as India’s First Village, where he reviewed initiatives aimed at promoting tourism, preserving local cultural heritage and generating livelihood opportunities. He appreciated the efforts of Army personnel and residents to strengthen border communities and support socio-economic development in the region.

The visit underscored the Army’s dual focus on maintaining operational readiness in strategically important border areas and supporting the development of remote communities.
