Maj Gen BK Sharma Heads Centre for Strategic Studies and Simulation at the USI of India. He specializes in strategic Net Assessments, Scenario Building and Strategic Gaming. He is a graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Higher Command course and National Defense College. He attended a course in International Peacekeeping in Santiago (Chile) in the year 2000.He commanded a mountain division on the China border. He was Senior Faculty Member at the National Defense College, Director at the Military Wing at the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Principal Director at the Directorate of Net Assessment, HQ Integrated Defense Staff and Brigadier General Staff of a Corps deployed in the East. He was Defense Attaché in the Embassy of India in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan and UN Military Observer in Central AmericaHe has spoken at international Xiangshan Forums, SCO Forums, BRICS Forum, international events organized by the UN, OSCE, SIPRI and CMCA and at the Central Asia & Afghanistan Dialogue-2015. He has participated in India- Afghanistan and India- Vietnam Track 2 Dialogues. He has participated in many other international events related to geopolitics in several countries.He contributes articles in the Indian and foreign journals and newspapers. He has edited four books and number of monographs. He edits Strategic Perspective, the USI digital magazine, and the prestigious USI Strategic Yearbook.He was conferred a national award for National Building by the Confederation of Educational Excellence of India in 2017.
