Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), embarked on units of the Eastern Naval Command, Poorvi Beda, at sea on Thursday to review their operational readiness, according to an official statement.
During the embarkation, the CNS witnessed a series of advanced operational drills conducted in a multi-threat environment. These included complex fleet manoeuvres, weapon firings, and flying operations. The CNS was also briefed in detail on the operational preparedness of platforms and personnel, highlighting the Eastern Fleet’s ability to operate effectively across the full spectrum of maritime operations.

The Navy Chief periodically reviews the operational readiness of the Eastern Fleet at sea to assess the fleet’s high combat readiness to counter maritime threats, highlighting commitment to vigilance in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) amidst evolving security challenges, and interacting with sailors to boost morale and focus on safety and readiness.
Addressing the personnel, the CNS commended the units of the Eastern Naval Command for maintaining a consistently high operational tempo. He lauded their focus on sustaining battle-ready platforms, achieving precision in ordnance delivery, and ensuring mission effectiveness under demanding operational conditions.
The CNS underscored the pivotal role of well-trained and motivated human capital, the men and women in white, in the optimal employment of modern weapons, sensors, and uncrewed systems within a fully networked operational environment.
Reaffirming the ethos and mandate of the Indian Navy, the CNS stated that such levels of preparedness and professionalism remain central to safeguarding India’s national maritime interests—anytime, anywhere, anyhow.
