The Russian military announced on Friday that its drones conducted multiple precision strikes on Ukrainian military targets over the past week. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces claimed to have struck a Russian drone hangar in Rostov Oblast on the same day.
According to Russia’s Ministry of Defence, between January 4 and 10, its forces carried out 28 high-precision strikes using advanced weaponry and attack drones. These strikes reportedly targeted Ukrainian military airfield infrastructure, ammunition depots, attack drone assembly workshops, storage facilities, and temporary deployment sites for Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries.
Russian forces also gained control of three settlements, including Kurakhove.
Additionally, Russian air defence systems intercepted eight U.S.-made Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles and 41 HIMARS rockets, and shot down 689 drones and a MiG-29 fighter jet.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported 166 combat clashes as of Friday afternoon. It said that Ukrainian forces had successfully repelled 10 Russian offensives in Kursk.
According to a report by Ukrinform, Ukraine’s national news agency, the Ukrainian Security Service, in coordination with the Ukrainian Navy, carried out a strike early Friday morning on a drone hangar in Russia’s Rostov region near the Ukrainian border. The targeted warehouse reportedly exploded due to stored ammunition inside.
Ukrinform further reported that Ukrainian forces launched additional drone strikes on industrial facilities in Russia’s Rostov and Leningrad regions earlier the same day. The strikes allegedly caused fires at two industrial enterprises, adding to the escalating tensions between the two nations.
