Boeing has appointed Alay Parikh as Director of Business Development

In a strategic move to deepen its defence footprint in India, Boeing has appointed Alay Parikh as Director of Business Development for its Defence, Space & Security and Global Services businesses in the country. The appointment underscores Boeing’s growing commitment to India’s expanding defence market and its long-term strategic partnership with the Indian armed forces.

Parikh will be responsible for driving business growth, expanding customer engagement, and identifying new opportunities for Boeing’s defence platforms and services across India. He will report to Randy Rotte, Senior Director of International Business Development, and succeeds Alain Garcia, who moves to a new role with Boeing in South Korea.

“Alay’s rich experience across defence systems and global customer engagement supports Boeing’s commitment to long-term growth in India,” said Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India and South Asia. “As we deepen our engagement in the region, his background and familiarity with our operations will play a critical role in advancing our priorities.”

With nearly two decades at Boeing, Parikh brings extensive experience in global defence and supply chain operations. Most recently, he led the Boeing Global Services (BGS) program team in Singapore, overseeing sustainment for platforms such as the AH-64 Apache, CH-47 Chinook, and F-15. He has also served as Strategy and New Business Manager within Boeing Defence, Space & Security (BDS) Supply Chain, where he worked on initiatives across Asia and emerging markets, including strategic supplier engagement and offset programs. His expertise spans the CH-47, AH-64, and broader supply chain strategy, including global architecture initiatives.

“I’m pleased to join the team at Boeing India,” said Parikh. “As India’s defence landscape continues to evolve, I look forward to supporting our customers with advanced capabilities and sustainment solutions that align with their operational goals and contribute to India’s self-reliance ambitions.”

India is one of Boeing’s largest defence markets, with a relationship spanning over eight decades. The Indian armed forces currently operate 11 C-17 Globemaster III aircraft, 22 AH-64 Apaches (with six more on order), 15 CH-47 Chinooks, 12 P-8I maritime patrol aircraft, three VVIP aircraft based on the 737 platform, and two Head of State aircraft based on the 777 platform, all built by Boeing.

Boeing Defence India (BDI), a wholly owned subsidiary, supports customers in-country through full-spectrum lifecycle services and capabilities tailored for government and defence stakeholders.
