Cyient, a Hyderabad-based firm which specialises in engineering design, manufacturing, geospatial and operations management for global industries — and Israel-based BlueBird Aero Systems signed a joint venture agreement last week on the sidelines of Defexpo 2018 near Chennai to offer unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to Indian defence, paramilitary, security, and police forces.
As per the agreement, a joint venture company named—Cyient Solutions and Systems Pvt Ltd has been floated in which Cyient would hold 51% stake while the remaining 49% with Israel-based BlueBird Aero Systems.
The JV’s portfolio includes the SpyLite, ThunderB, and MicroB systems that offer highly-innovative UAS (unmanned aircraft system) technology designed for covert, real-time intelligence, and tactical mapping-on-demand missions across open areas or crowded urban areas.
