India is gearing up for a significant revamp in its defence structure with the upcoming Theaterization. In light of this, it has become crucial to enhance integration and jointness between the Armed Forces. To further advance the progress made by previous efforts, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan is leading a two-day conference, “Parivartan Chintan—II,” starting today. This conference is expected to be a significant event in the transformational journey towards a more integrated defence domain.
“In light of the imminent Theaterization, the Indian Armed Forces are intent on giving momentum to the ongoing Jointness and Integration initiatives amongst the three services,” a Defence Ministry statement said on Tuesday.
The conference called Parivartan Chintan—II has been scheduled for May 9-10 in New Delhi, which will bring together the heads of all Tri-services Institutes. The main objective of this conference is to discuss and deliberate on innovative ideas and strategies to foster greater synergy and cohesion among the Army, Navy, and Air Force. This conference is the successor to the previous one held on April 8. The aim of this conference is to take forward the integration agenda and promote jointness and integration.
The statement stated that members from all the subcommittees of the Chiefs of Staff Committee, along with the CDS serving as its permanent Chairman and the three Service Chiefs, will review the progress made in various domains. They will brainstorm and propose necessary reforms to achieve the desired end state of transformation through jointness and integration.
Parivartan Chintan—II aims to brainstorm on improving operational procedures, optimising resource utilisation, and enhancing interoperability among the Armed Forces. In today’s world, India faces complex challenges in terms of modern warfare and geopolitical issues. Therefore, a unified and coordinated defence apparatus is essential to safeguarding national interests and ensuring security in this dynamic strategic landscape. As the conference progresses, it is expected to chart a course for the future of India’s defence while also highlighting the unwavering commitment of the Armed Forces to adapt, evolve, and excel in service to the nation.
