For the first time in the last 32 years of armed insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir, Government of Pakistan has reportedly under the pressure of UN-supported Financial Action Task Force (FATF) sealed off offices of all the 12 Kashmiri guerrilla outfits functioning on her soil under the banner of United Jehad Council (UJC).
Even as the regional and the mainstream media across Pakistan has maintained silence, ‘Independent Urdu’ daily has reported that the offices of all the dozen-odd terror outfits have been closed down in PoK and mainland Pakistan as the FATF has mounted tremendous pressure on Islamabad and threatened to take stringent action of its own.
This is believed to be a consequence of India’s sustained diplomatic pressure through UN, USA, China and other countries on Islamabad following the car bomb blast at Lethapora, Pulwama, that resulted in over 40 fatal casualties to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on 14 February this year. On 26 February, New Delhi claimed to have destroyed a major Jaish-e-Mohammad indoctrination and training centre at Balakot in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province of Pakistan by the Indian Air Force (IAF).Read More…
