Maj Gen Alok Deb, SM, VSM commanded his Artillery regiment in Operation Vijay where it was awarded the Chief of Army Staff Unit Citation and Honour Title Kargil. A former General Officer Commanding of an Artillery Division, he has held important staff appointments in all ranks. He was also one of the Colonel Commandants of the Regiment of Artillery, Indian Army, till his superannuation. Currently he is the DDG IDSA
