A frontline contingent of the Indian Air Force (IAF) has arrived at Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates to take part in Exercise Desert Flag-10, a major multinational air combat drill hosted by the UAE Air Force. The exercise, slated from April 21 to May 8, brings together air forces from 12 nations for high-intensity training and joint operations.

Representing India, the IAF is deploying its MiG-29 and Jaguar fighter aircraft, showcasing its combat capabilities alongside participants from Australia, Bahrain, France, Germany, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the host nation UAE.

Designed to simulate complex aerial combat scenarios, Exercise Desert Flag aims to enhance operational synergy by exchanging tactical knowledge, mission planning techniques, and best practices among some of the world’s most advanced air forces.

“Participation in such multinational drills not only hones our combat skills but also deepens interoperability and military-to-military cooperation with partner nations,” said an IAF Spokesperson.

India’s involvement in Desert Flag-10 reflects its growing strategic outreach and commitment to bolstering defence ties across key regions, particularly in West Asia and beyond.
