Pakistan again went on the offensive on Thursday night and paid dearly for it. During the day, the Indian armed forces struck many military targets in Pakistan in response to the previous night’s missile attacks that were foiled by alert Indian forces. Indian kamikaze drones flew on a one-way mission to destroy targets that were located in Karachi in the south of the country all the way up north to Rawalpindi, which hosts the all-powerful General Headquarters (GHQ) of the Pakistani Army.
During these raids, the Pakistani Army’s air defence units faced significant damage and lost some of their top-tier air defence systems acquired from China.
But the day was just beginning. After the sun went down, the Pakistanis tried their luck again. Failing on Wednesday night to attack Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj, the Pakistanis tried their luck again on Thursday, but achieved the same results.
The Pakistanis initiated a drone and missile strike on various military locations along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB). The spectacularly foiled Pakistani attack ranged all the way from Jammu & Kashmir to Punjab and then on to Rajasthan. Air defence weapon systems ranging from the famed S400, Aakash and others took on the enemy projectiles, destroying them harmlessly away from their intended targets. The army also stated that soft kill or non-kinetic weapons were also used to defeat the unsuccessful attack.
As the situation was still developing, the Pakistani military announced that they had lost two JF-17s. There have been reports their have been reports that two Pakistani F-16s have also been lost due to the strong Indian air defences. There are also reports of a Pakistani AWACS aircraft being shot down. All of these aerial attacks did not lead to any losses on the Indian side.
