Air Marshal Ajay Kumar Arora has assumed the role of Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance at the Air Headquarters of the Indian Air Force (IAF), effective November 1. He succeeds Air Marshal Chakalayil Rajappa Mohan, who previously led the IAF’s Maintenance and Logistics branch. Before this appointment, Air Marshal Arora served as the Director General, Aircraft.

The IAF announced his appointment via a post on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting his extensive credentials. An Electronics and Communication Engineer by training, he is an Air Force Technical College graduate in Bengaluru, the Air Command and Staff College in the USA, and the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad. He also holds a Doctorate in Management from the University of Pune and is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur. With over 38 years of distinguished service, Air Marshal Arora has held numerous key command and staff positions, contributing significantly to the operational and technical capabilities of the IAF.
With Air Marshal Ajay Arora at the helm, the IAF Maintenance branch is set to continue its mission of delivering top-tier operational support with a renewed focus on achieving self-sufficiency and driving innovation in maintenance and logistics.
