Zen Technologies unveiled what it described as India’s first fully integrated, AI-powered anti-drone system

Marking the anniversary of Operation Sindoor, Zen Technologies on Monday unveiled what it described as India’s first fully integrated, AI-powered anti-drone system, designed to counter emerging threats from swarm drones and low-cost unmanned platforms.

The system was launched at the North Tech Symposium 2026 in Prayagraj, at a

time when militaries worldwide are grappling with the growing use of first-person-view (FPV) drones and coordinated swarm attacks that can overwhelm conventional air defence systems.

According to the company, the platform has been designed and developed indigenously and integrates both “soft kill” and “hard kill” options within a single architecture. It can detect and disrupt drone communications across a wide frequency band and provide kinetic interception through weapon integration.

At the core of the system is an AI-enabled data fusion and command centre that combines inputs from multiple sensors to classify, track and respond to aerial threats in real time. The system can detect drones at ranges exceeding 15 km and track over 100 targets simultaneously, making it suitable for countering swarm attacks.

The platform also features a high-sensitivity indigenous radar with a detection range of up to 20 km, designed to identify smaller drones with low radar cross-sections at an early stage.

For neutralisation, the system employs a layered approach, including radio frequency (RF) jamming, GNSS disruption and spoofing, and integration with remote-controlled weapon stations using 12.7 mm and 7.62 mm guns. It can also be paired with air defence guns and loitering interceptors for hard-kill operations.

Zen Technologies Chairman and Managing Director Ashok Atluri said recent conflicts had underscored the shifting nature of warfare. “Drone warfare is redefining the battlefield, and the real advantage will belong to those who can neutralise these threats effectively,” he said, adding that the system has been developed with full intellectual property ownership under the government’s indigenisation push.

The platform has been designed for deployment across multiple operational scenarios. A vehicle-mounted version enables mobility and convoy protection, while a man-portable variant is intended for infantry units operating in counter-insurgency or forward areas. A fixed configuration is designed to safeguard critical infrastructure and military installations through round-the-clock surveillance.

The unveiling comes amid a broader push for self-reliance in defence technologies, particularly in areas such as counter-drone systems, where rapid technological evolution has created new operational challenges for armed forces.

Hyderabad-based Zen Technologies, which specialises in defence training and anti-drone solutions, said it continues to invest in research and development to scale up indigenous capabilities in this domain.
