Col (Dr) Bhasker Gupta is an Artillery Officer of Jun 1992 batch, who superannuated, in Dec 2022. He has had professional training in Journalism and Mass Communication, and was a Trainee Sub-Editor with the Times of India, Delhi, in 1990. Before this, he had a short stint with a MNC GEC-ALSTHOM, where he worked as a French interpretor-cum-Project-Co-ordinator, at their Kawas (Surat) site, for India’s first Gas Turbine Power Plant. A double Masters in Defence Studies and Business Administration (HR), he is also PhD in International Relations from School of International Studies-Centre for South Asiam, JNU. He is also a Disaster Management expert, wherein he has published five technical papers on the subject.He is a Professor of Practise at Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak-for Defence & Start studies; Guest Faculty-for Management Studies at Amity University’s Global Business School, Noida & Sr Fellow & PhD Guide at Indian Army’s leading think tank-CLAWS, Delhi Cantt He has been a prolific writer, since the time when as a Gentleman Cadet he was the editor of IMA Journal, editor of Rising Star Digest (Corps HQ Newsletter) & The Owl (DSCC Magazine),besides contributing articles to Unit Newsletters/Sainik Samachar/ ArtilleryJournal, etc. His most prestigious assignment was as editor of `BAATCHEET’- Indian Army’s monthly newsmagazine (from 2009 to 2012). Besides, he has contributed over 250 published articles in various magazine/Journals like Swagat, Jetwings, Asia Defence News, Indian Military Review, USI Digest, CLAWS Journal etc. He has authored eight books for Army/Para Military Forces, the most recent being-`The A TO Z Guide to Final Selection-about `how to clear SSB Interviews’, a best-seller,in its Sixth Revised Edition now. Presently he is settled at AWHO Township, G Noida and engages himself gainfully in writing, teaching & travelling!
