Covid 2nd wave like war and we are treating it as such, say military doctors

Personnel of the three wings of the Indian Armed Forces have been pressed into service to help civilian administration in its fight to control the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has proved shockingly devastating.

Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar, Deputy Chief of the IDS (Medical) and Surgeon Rear Admiral C S Naidu, Additional DG (Medical) of the Indian Navy spoke to BharatShakti, elucidating the details of this Operation. Named Co-Jeet, not only are beds being provided and oxygen being ferried by sorties in this operation, but initiatives have also been taken to address the mental health needs of the healthcare workers on the ground. The Indian military is treating the situation like a war, and both the officers told BharatShakti that the worst is behind us.
