Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi has commenced a four-day official tour to Bangladesh to bolster the longstanding bilateral defence relations and explore new opportunities for naval cooperation. This visit is particularly significant as it aligns with China’s endeavours to strengthen its defence ties with Bangladesh, such as constructing a dry naval dock for submarines and warships.
During his visit, Admiral Tripathi will hold comprehensive bilateral discussions with the Chiefs of the Bangladesh Army and Air Force, the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division, and senior leaders of the Bangladesh Government, in addition to his counterpart, Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, Chief of the naval staff of the Bangladesh Navy in Dhaka.
This signifies the strong commitment of the Chief of Naval Staff to strengthening the friendship between the navies of both countries.

INS Ranvir Arrives at Chattogram as part of Operational Deployment
Significantly, Indian Naval Ship Ranvir, a key part of the Eastern Naval Command fleet, made a momentous arrival at Chattogram on Saturday, marking the beginning of Admiral Tripathi’s visit to Bangladesh.
The spokesperson highlighted that the visit will be a testament to the collaborative spirit, as personnel from the Indian and Bangladesh navies will engage in a wide range of professional interactions, including Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE), cross-deck visits, community outreach, and friendly sports fixtures. These activities are aimed at further strengthening existing mutual cooperation and maritime linkages between both navies and nations.
Following the successful completion of the harbour phase, INS Ranvir, a symbol of naval prowess, will take centre stage in a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX)/ PASSEX with ships of the Bangladesh Navy.
