In a late-night missile attack, the Indian armed forces have struck nine terror targets deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK). In a statement released soon after the strikes, the Indian Ministry of Defence mentioned that terror infrastructure used to plan and direct strikes on India had been hit in the strikes.
India has hit cities in Punjab such as Bahawalpur and Muridke. The headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba are located in these two cities. Besides these two cities, targets have been hit in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Gulpur, Bhimbher and Sialkot. This is the first time that India has struck targets in Punjab after the 1971 war. The strikes are also the first time that the country has depended on its missile arsenal to strike terror targets in Pakistan.
