Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi visited forward areas in Srinagar, Uri, and Unchi Bassi on Thursday to commend troops for their exceptional performance during Operation Sindoor, a recent military operation marked by precision strikes and effective countermeasures against Pakistani provocations.
During his visit, which included interactions with the Chinar Corps’ Dagger Division personnel, the Army Chief congratulated soldiers from various arms and services for their coordinated response in neutralising aerial and ground threats along the Line of Control (LoC). Emphasising morale over military briefings, Gen Dwivedi’s engagement focused on celebrating the troops’ courage, professionalism, and mission success.
“Shabash!” the Army Chief exclaimed in his address to the soldiers, lauding their valour, high alertness, and aggressive posture during heightened cross-border tensions. He highlighted the destruction of terror infrastructure across the LoC in Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) as a key achievement of the operation.

Gen Dwivedi also acknowledged the humanitarian assistance provided by troops to civilians affected by Pakistan’s unprovoked shelling. He reiterated the Indian Army’s dual commitment—to national defence and citizens’ welfare.
“The Indian Army remains ever-ready to respond decisively to emerging challenges. Our legacy of honour, courage, and operational excellence continues to inspire,” he stated.
The Army Chief’s visit served as a morale booster for frontline units and reinforced the strong bond between the leadership and rank and file amid a dynamic security environment along the western front.
