How The Indian Army Fights | Understanding Its Arms & Branches

The Indian Army is made up of a wide range of arms and services, each with a distinct role and responsibility. While some are directly involved in combat, others provide the operational and logistical support that enables military operations to be conducted effectively. Understanding how these different components work together is essential to understanding how the Indian Army functions as a fighting force.

In the second special edition of Defence Mantra Classroom, the focus shifts from the Army’s organisational hierarchy to the different arms and services that make up the force. Building on the first episode, which explained the structure of the Indian Army, this episode explores the roles of the Combat Arms, Combat Support Arms and Services, helping viewers understand the purpose of each and how they contribute to military operations.

Each of these branches with their defined role forman integrated system in which combat units, supporting arms and logistical services work in coordination to achieve operational objectives.
