The Indian Army’s three-day biannual Army Commanders’ Conference began in New Delhi on Wednesday, with the senior leadership set to deliberate on the evolving security environment, operational preparedness, capability development and the force’s transformation to meet future warfare challenges.

Chaired by the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), the three-day conference, held from October 21 to 23, will bring together the Army’s top commanders to review ongoing initiatives, identify priority areas, and formulate policy directions for a technologically enabled, future-ready force.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address the conference on the final day 23rd October and release the Land Warfare Doctrine, a key highlight of the event. The doctrine aims to provide an overarching framework to prepare the Army to respond to the changing character of warfare and emerging challenges in future conflicts.

The conference will also hear from the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of the Naval Staff and the Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, who will speak on contemporary security-related issues. Their participation is expected to provide perspectives on jointness, cross-domain challenges and the growing role of technology in national security.

The Defence Minister will also unveil the Army’s annual United Nations Journal and felicitate personnel who have made notable contributions while serving as UN peacekeepers.
