In a strong message of unity and operational preparedness, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi visited forward military posts along the western front today to commend troops for their exemplary performance during Operation Sindoor.

General Chauhan visited the strategically vital Suratgarh Military Station and Naliya Air Force Station, accompanied by Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, South Western Command, and Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, AOC-in-C, South Western Air Command. He interacted with personnel, praised their high morale, and emphasized the need for sustained readiness in the face of evolving security threats.

During his address, the CDS lauded the inter-service synergy demonstrated during Operation Sindoor and held strategic discussions with senior commanders. He was also briefed on the deployment of advanced air defence systems during the operation. Applauding the troops’ resolute courage, swift response, and professional excellence, General Chauhan underlined the importance of decisive action and civil-military cooperation in securing national interests.

Meanwhile, General Dwivedi visited Longewala, a key location in the desert sector under the Konark Corps, to review operational outcomes and congratulate troops for thwarting multiple infiltration attempts. He commended the seamless coordination between the Army, Indian Air Force, and Border Security Force, which ensured swift deployment of surveillance assets and weapon systems across the Jaisalmer–Kutch stretch.

Interacting with troops, the Army Chief acknowledged their valour, vigilance, and dedication, especially in successfully neutralising enemy drones and securing the international boundary. He praised commanders for their leadership and reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to protecting national sovereignty with unyielding resolve.

Both visits come in the wake of Operation Sindoor, a large-scale coordinated response to hostile attempts along the western frontier, which has now set a new benchmark for jointness and preparedness across services.

The high-level visits not only boosted troop morale but also reiterated the nation’s deep appreciation for its armed forces operating under extreme conditions to uphold territorial integrity and national security.
