Mahindra Aerostructures Pvt Ltd (MASPL) and Airbus Aerostructures GmbH have entered a fresh agreement to produce and supply metallic components for various Airbus commercial aircraft, encompassing the famous A320 family. As part of this contract, MASPL will furnish nearly 5000 diverse metallic components to Airbus in Germany, leveraging its manufacturing facility located in India. This agreement expands MASPL’s ongoing initiatives to directly provide components to Airbus at their Toulouse facilities in France.
Vinod Sahay, President of Aerospace & Defence and Chief People Officer of Auto & Farm Sectors at Mahindra, expressed pride in the Mahindra Group’s association with Airbus. He highlighted the significance of the new contract, emphasising the expansion of their partnership and heightened involvement in the government’s ‘Make In India’ initiative. Sahay conveyed optimism about meeting their commitments and sustaining the collaborative growth journey between the two entities.
Arvind Mehra, Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Aerostructures, expressed the privilege of being an Airbus supplier and conveyed deep appreciation for Airbus’s ongoing support of their growth initiatives. Mehra highlighted the award as a substantial extension of their Airbus portfolio, presenting additional prospects for collaboration with Airbus on aspects such as performance, sustainability, and operational excellence.
MASPL has served as a direct supplier to the Airbus Group since 2015 and collaborates on various initiatives with Airbus. The company has achieved the status of a D2P “Challenger” for three consecutive years in the Sheet Metal domain. Additionally, it holds a level “A” rating in the Airbus Industrial Process Capability Assessment (IPCA+). MASPL also was honoured with the “Best Performer” award in the 2023 Airbus Supplier Quality Improvement Program (SQIP) awards.
