SBP SINHA PVSM AVSM VM

Air Marshal SBP Sinha graduated from National Defence Academy in June 1979 and was commissioned in fighter stream on 15 June 1980. He took over as AOC-in-C of Central Air Command on 01 January 2016. He has flown Hunter, MiG-21, Mirage 2000 and Su-30MKI and has 3935 flying hours. He is 'Cat A' Flying Instructor, Instrument Rating Instructor and Examiner, and graduate of Defence Services Staff College. He underwent 'Operational Electronic Warfare Course' in France and 'Executive Course on Security Studies' in USA.
His important Command and Instructional appointments include Instructor in Flying Instructors’ School, Flight Commander of Mirage-2000 Squadron, Chief Flying Instructor of Basic Flying Training School, Air Force Examiner in Aircrew Examining Board, Commanding Officer of MiG-21 Squadron, Commandant of Electronic Warfare Range, Team Leader of Indian AWACS Project Team in Israel and Air Officer Commanding of premier Su-30MKI Base. He has held the staff appointments of Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Plans), Principal Director of Directorates of Plans, C4ISR and Acquisitions in Air HQ. He is a recipient of Chief of the Air Staff and AOC-in-C commendations. He has been awarded PVSM, AVSM and VM. He superannuated on 31 Dec 2018.
