Three days after India’s Operation Sindoor targeting Terrorist infrastructure and leadership of two prominent terrorist groups, JeM and LeT, Pakistan has tried to launch an appropriate response by attacking Indian cities and military bases across the entire western border but has been unable to make much headway or inflict any damage.
With little or no international support forthcoming, Pakistan’s Army Chief Gen Asim Munir, is now in a bind. Has he achieved enough to de-escalate the present conflict with India and sees an escape route? That’s the question that must be troubling Gen Munir. India has made it clear it will not escalate if Pakistan does not attack India again.
Brig Arun Sahgal (Retd), the man who started Net Assessment in India, was interviewed by Brig SK Chatterji (Retd), Editor Bharatshakti on the larger issues that the current conflict has thrown up, and possible course it could take. It’s possible, international pressures will build-up in the next few days and a solution could be quite close.
