The cutting-edge facility of Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL) in Hyderabad has achieved a significant milestone by delivering the 250th fuselage for the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter. These high-quality fuselages, produced with advanced aerospace concepts, cater to a global clientele, including the U.S. Army, and, most recently, they fulfilled an order for six fuselages for the Indian Army. This accomplishment underscores TBAL’s unwavering commitment to enhancing India’s defence capabilities and promoting the country’s self-reliant manufacturing prowess.
A collaborative effort between Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), this joint venture employs over 900 engineers and technicians. The facility utilises state-of-the-art robotics, automation, and cutting-edge aerospace technologies in its manufacturing processes.
TBAL’s sprawling 14,000 square meter facility serves as a global sole source supplier for Apache fuselages and highlights its dedication to indigenous manufacturing. More than 90 per cent of the components used in the Apache aero-structure assemblies are manufactured in India through a network of over 100 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) suppliers, further contributing to the growth of the domestic aerospace industry.
