In a pioneering initiative, MKU Private Limited—a defence and homeland security solutions based in Kanpur—has become the first Indian defence company to provide direct support to an Olympic aspirant.
The company has pledged its backing to 20-year-old shooting prodigy Sanjeeta Das from Punjab, who is currently training with an eye on the 2028 Olympic Games.
This collaboration marks a notable shift in the corporate landscape, where Indian defence firms have traditionally focused on supporting military and security personnel. By championing an athlete, MKU is breaking new ground in the realm of corporate social responsibility.
Olympic Hopeful
A rising star in Indian shooting, Sanjeeta has earned acclaim for her unwavering focus, mental toughness, and disciplined training. Her relentless pursuit of excellence mirrors the core values of MKU—resilience, precision, and commitment to performance.
“At MKU, we believe in empowering those who push their limits—on the battlefield and beyond,” said Neeraj Gupta, Managing Director of MKU Limited. “Sanjeeta’s passion and perseverance embody the spirit of a true hero. We’re proud to support her journey as she strives to represent India on the world stage.”
As part of its support, MKU is equipping Das with a world-class Steyr Challenge E Air Rifle (.177 calibre) along with essential accessories—critical tools to help her compete at the highest levels of international shooting.
This initiative aligns with MKU’s guiding philosophy of Empowering Heroes—a vision it has long applied to its work with armed forces and now extends to young changemakers beyond the defence sector.
“Empowering Heroes isn’t just a slogan—it’s a movement,” Gupta added. “We call on individuals, institutions, and organizations across India to rally behind Sanjeeta. Let’s invest in her dream and support her journey to Olympic glory.”
Through this bold step, MKU not only reinforces its commitment to excellence but also sets a powerful precedent for the defence industry’s role in nation-building beyond traditional boundaries.
