The Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan while addressing an event in Pune stated how the Indian Armed Forces dominated Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. The Pakistanis wanted to launch a 48-hour long counter attacks to India’s Operation Sindoor, which had begun on May 07.

Pakistan had to cut short its Operation Bunyan al Marsous as it could not penetrate India’s defences. The CDS stated, “On the 10th of May, at about 1 AM, their aim was to get India to its knees in 48 hours, multiple attacks were launched and, in some manner, they escalated this conflict, while we had actually hit only terror targets.”

The top military officer added that the Pakistanis expected to continue their offensive for 48-hours and were forced to cut down their offensive to 8 hours, only. Pakistan was forced to call off its offensive after India struck multiple Pakistani air bases, hampering Islamabad’s capability to conduct offensive operations.

The Chief of Defence Staff was asked about the losses incurred by the Indian Armed Forces during the kinetic phase of Operation Sindoor. General Chauhan said, “When I was asked about losses on our side, I said these are not important. The results and how you act are important. It would not be very correct to talk about losses…Suppose you go in a cricket test match, and you win by an innings defeat, then there’s no question of how many wickets, how many balls and how many players… Based on technical parameters, we will take out this particular data and share it with you. We will tell you how many aircraft we destroyed and how many radars did we destroy. We’ll make a rough assessment of that and come out with that shortly.”

General Chauhan reiterated that results are more important than the losses incurred.

The top Indian General also took on Pakistan over its support to terrorism. General Chauhan explained that Pakistan has a policy of using terror against India in order to ‘bleed India dry through a thousand cuts’. The CDS also shed some light on the fact that Pakistani Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir had, just before the Pahalgam terror attack, spewed venom against India and Hindus.

During the speech, General Chauhan stressed on the fact that the Pakistanis will now have a price to pay for using non-state actors against India. Adding that many other steps such as diversion of water and kinetic action will be used to dissuade Pakistan from repeating such attacks.
