During a career spanning four decades, the officer has held a number of prestigious command and staff appointments. He was head of the Army Aviation Corps and Commandant School of Artillery. Currently, he is the President of the Northern Region of The Helicopter Society of India. A defence analyst, he writes for defence journals and publications and is also on the editorial board of a few of them.
